Part 1: On-Site Field Measure
A cost estimate for all your required Drawings you will need for your Permit and Construction will be given at the start to aid you in selecting a design that meets your aesthetic and practical preferences as well as your budget requirements
At the start of the architectural design process, we will make an on-site field measure of your existing home and or visit you at the property for the proposed new Construction to take place. During this time which takes on average 2 hours we can discuss your concept ideas with the Architectural Technologist on-site to get a better idea of your design tastes as well as for you to get familiar with us.
Part 2: Schematic Design
During this phase of the architectural design process, we will take the information we’ve gathered from you and through our field measures and create different design options for your consideration. We will present these options in the form of PDF Drawing Files sent via email, so you can visualize the different routes your project could take.
You will also have the opportunity to request any modifications you’d like us to make to your preferred design. Once you have selected a design option that best suits your needs, we will begin the process of refining the design during the Design Development phase.
At this time please note that we will only charge extra if you ask for changes after all final drawings have been approved and hard copies have been handed over to you or your Contractor for Permit and Construction.
Part 3: Final Work Drawings
At this time, you will have settled on a final design and we will begin preparing the final working drawings, notes, and technical specifications necessary for the construction, and permit application. This is the part that many people think of when they picture the work of an architectural designer – the creation of blueprints. You and your Contractors will use these working drawings to prepare for the next phase in the architectural design process.
Part 4: Applying for Permit
Copies of all Drawings for Permit and Construction are given to the Town/City’s Permit Application Department, you can Download an Application form here. This process is suplosed to only take 9 Business Days but can take up to 3 weeks depending on the Municipality you live in and the amount of other Applicants they have.
